In life, people will cross paths with one another and sometimes, those paths become a path where they walk together. I met Michael Cortez over 30 years ago, when he was a young Police officer with the Hoytville Police Dept. In his early years of service to the public, he had a commitment to caring for and giving back to his community.
In his commitment to helping others, he also has the ability to train others and he was passionate about training our future law enforcement as he taught at Owen’s Community College in Findlay.
Michael spent the past 20 plus years serving our communities with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office as deputy and later became a Sergeant. A promotion that he served honorably.
His passion for people comes from his love for God and his willingness to be a servant for the Lord by serving others, being light to those in darkness, and giving back to God and his community in his desire to serve with integrity and wisdom.
Michael’s expertise in law enforcement and his empathy for the public which he has served has always made him an outstanding officer with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office. With his desire to continue serving our community, he has made it known to run for Sheriff.
